Trailer & Caravan Tyres
WE are here for all your caravan tyre needs.
We can supply and fit caravan tyres to all types of caravans and we come to you! We can book you a fitting slot or if you're broken down we are here 24 hours a day to help you back on the road. We hold a good stock of commercial rated tyres for trailers, caravans, vans and trucks. |
Tyron BandsTyron Bands are a safety device that is fiited to the inside of your wheel when a tyre is fitted.
Tyron bands are ideal if you are towing a caravan or trailer. We have seen the difference tyronbands make, when a tyre unexpectedly deflates, whilst towing and it is amazing the stability a tyron band gives to a flat tyre! On the negative side it is more time consuming for tyre fitters to remove and reinstall, so we charge £15 per wheel for the extra time. We do not rush or cut corners when fitting tyron bands. Our vans are fully equipped to remove and reinstall tryon band. |

Caravan & Trailer Tyres
Ensuring the safety of your caravan or trailer tyres is just as important as ensuring the safety of your car tyres, especially before heading out on long journeys.
Although it's your vehicle's tyres that take most of the load, your caravan tyres play an important part in terms of safety too. In short, they are the only point of contact between your caravan or trailer and the road, and making sure that you've got a set that's fit for purpose can be the difference between getting from A to B safely, and not getting there at all.
*Check your caravan/trailer tyre tread
Having the right amount of tread on each of your caravan tyres is extremely important. Not only will you face a fine of up to £2,500 per tyre if the police find that your tyres have less than 1.6mm across three quarters of the tread: you could also face a three-point penalty on your license for each tyre that's under the legal limit.
*Check your caravan/trailer tyre pressure
An old or under-inflated tyre is not much good on long journeys, often blowing out or causing loss of control.
*Check your caravan/trailer tyre side walls and in between tread for cracks
Most caravans don't cover a lot of miles, the tyres still need changing just like your car tyres. Caravans, no matter whether they're stored indoors or outside, will be subject to the elements at some point or another, which means that they're prone to deterioration and wear. It's worth checking for any cracking or crazing of the rubber in between the tread or sidewall, as these are sure signs that the rubber is deteriorating.
*Check the age of your caravan/trailer tyres
Older tyres are likely to fail due to their exposure to the environment, and it is likely that standing still over the winter months will have taken its toll on the tyres.
With this in mind, like The Caravan Club and Tyresafe, we would recommend changing your caravan tyres at least every five years.
*Replace if your caravan/trailer tyres are over 5 years old
*Replace if your caravan/trailer tyres show any signs of deterioration
While going to a garage for new tyres is never fun, it’s even more challenging when getting new tyres for a caravan or trailer. Many garages ask you to take the wheels off your caravan or trailer yourself and take them in. If you don’t want to be struggling to remove your wheels and waiting around in a garage and then re fitting them again afterwards, let Dave Beards Tyres come to you and do the whole thing for you in a more timely manor.
It's easy to order your caravan or trailer tyres with us, all we need is your tyre size, which can be found on the sidewall of the tyre and your location. We can get you a price that includes free mobile fitting.
We can call out to your caravan on your drive or wherever it is stored.
